Yandex Business: setting up a company listing
Yandex isn't the main search engine in Uzbekistan, but it's a noticeable one, and Yandex Maps and Navigator are used daily. A listing there is a source of calls and route requests that works independently of the site's search positions.
As with Google, verification of the organisation and address is required.
What to fill in
-
Name, without promotional additions or keywords.
-
Category — primary and secondary, matching real services.
-
Address with a pin on the map — check the pin sits at the entrance, not in the middle of the building.
-
Phone numbers, website, messengers, opening hours.
-
A list of services with descriptions — it participates in search within the maps.
-
Photographs: entrance, premises, work in progress.
Differences from Google
Yandex has a more developed services block with prices — worth filling in thoroughly, because it displays directly in the listing. Reviews are moderated more strictly, and paid promotion of a listing exists as a separate product that doesn't substitute for filling it in properly.
Common mistakes
-
Duplicate listings after a move or a name change — they need merging, not ignoring.
-
The phone number in the listing doesn't match the one on the site.
-
Opening hours aren't updated for holidays, a client arrives at a closed door and leaves a review.
-
The listing was created on the personal account of an employee who later left.
The link to the site
Listing details must match the site and the Organization structured data. A phone number that differs between the site and the maps is a routine reason for a search engine not to connect them as one business.
If you need the data synchronised between the site, the maps and the structured markup, get in touch and we'll help reduce it to one source.
